AANC Auxillary News

As we flip the calendar from January to February, I have had time to sit and  reflect on the AANC Winter Convention. It was wonderful to see all of the new and familiar faces of our association. We will always miss the ones who couldn’t attend, but they are always with us in spirit.

During the AANC Fun Auction we auctioned off our Auxiliary Quilt that was made by Mary Anne Evans and Judy Mullis……truly a one of kind treasure. Thank you to both of these sweet ladies as they completed this project with such love and joy! Also I would like to thank Auxiliary Hall of Fame Member Deidre Rogers for serving as our Auctioneer for the quilt…..she only asked for one requirement that all other Auxiliary members be her bidder assistants. The quilt was purchased for $700.00 which will assist the Auxiliary in being able to fund scholarships and charities in our state.

The general business meeting was held on Saturday at the Moose Café which has become our regular meeting place during the Winter Convention…..the food is great, prices are reasonable, and they always accommodate with a large party room. After the business meeting we moved into our fun auction during which we had lots of talented lady auctioneers sell a few items to help us raise $389.00. Thank you to Becky Tarlton, Ashton Burton, and Liz Swicegood for all your help as Auctioneers. This year I was surprised and humbled to be announced as the new Hall of Fame Inductee. I have been a member of the Auxiliary since 2010 and have enjoyed every moment with these ladies of the Auction Industry.

Thank you all for the encouragement over the years!!

Moving ahead to our June convention in Angier, it will be held at Johnson Properties on June 14th and June 15th. The General business meeting information will be announced in the Spring Newsletter as details are still unfolding.

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage ALL auctioneers, spouses, or significant others to make plans to attend our Auxiliary Luncheon and Fun Auction. We always have an awesome time and it’s a great way to meet others that are involved in the Auction Industry. If you have any questions about the Auxiliary, please feel free to contact me anytime. Also you can check out our tab on the AANC website for more information about who we are and what we do.
